Imagine a world

Imagine a world where...

As part of the ongoing temporary exhibit 'The Art of Equality: A Journey to Justice', led by the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), we are inviting visitors to reflect on what a more just, fair, and sustainable world would look like. A visitor from Neyagawa City, Osaka, wished for a world where “all children can smile.” Distressed by the conflicts taking place around the world, she said she would “like to leave a world where my children and grandchildren can live in peace.”

Led by UNESCO, the exhibit features works by photographer Liam Man in the context of the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation. It sheds light on the impact of climate change on glaciers in four locations: Switzerland’s Rhone Glacier, abandoned ski resorts in France, an eclipse over Chilean Patagonia, and Iceland’s glacial lagoons. The exhibit runs until 7 September.

This exhibition showcases various initiatives aimed at preserving memories of war and passing them on to future generations to help end and prevent conflicts. Some examples also utilize technology. This year marks 80 years since the end of the war, and TBS, along with the 28 stations of its JNN network, has collected valuable testimonies and visuals to pass on the memories of war to the next generation. The exhibition is composed of carefully selected materials from among those gathered.
